2023 - A new generation
Joost (sales manager), Lyon (purchase manager) and Kiki (warehouse manager) became shareholders in VWS. All key departments are now represented on the board. Their fresh and modern view on the market further strengthens the company. This ensures that VWS continues to thrive, together with the team of employees, suppliers and of course our valued customers.
2022 - Ready for the future
Now renowned for tulip and lily bulbs sales, VWS took on gladiolus sales for Stoop Flowerbulbs in September - an excellent addition to our range.
2002 - A new era
Gert became CEO as Piet and Riet stepped back. VWS began automating many processes, quickly becoming one of the most technologically advanced companies in the flower bulb export sector.
1996 - A fresh breeze
Gert Sijm, son of Piet and Riet, joined the management team, bringing new energy and a forward-thinking vision.
1988- A new chapter
Piet and Riet Sijm continued VWS independently and centralized operations in Broek op Langedijk. Export markets quickly expanded to 15 countries.
1983 -Expansion begins
A subsidiary was established in Wervershoof, adding lilies to our specialties and increasing exports to 10 countries.
1972 - How it began
VWS was founded in Egmond aan den Hoef by Ernst Voss, Jan de Waard and Piet Sijm. Specializing in tulips and gladioli, they exported to four countries.
